Low Birth Rate .

INTRODUCTION.
We would like to know why Singaporeans do not like to give birth. We have to know more about
Singaporeans that why nowadays people do not want to give birth. The government should  lower down the
Prices of diapers, milk powders, and all. So that people can afford to have children.
We only managed to interview 5 people. We went to the shopping mall and walked around to ask people. Please continue to read on how well we had done in our surveys.

METHODLOGY.
We went to Nex Serangoon Shopping centre, to interview people as a group of 3, we only managed to interview 5 people. We went there on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We separated on the first day and asked, but went to interview people as a group on the second day.

These are the questions we asked :
Why don't you want to have children?
What is stopping you from having more then 1 child?
What can the government do to encourage people to give birth to more children?
Are you married? If yes, why do you want to have children and why you dont want?

RESULTS & ANALYSIS
Out of the 5 people I interviewed, 4 were married, and only 1 were single.
The one that is single, is engaged, and getting married soon.
She did not want to have children as she thinks that she is still young, and hence, she do no want to
Give birth, she want to enjoy her times with her husband.

There are two that is married, and they have 2 children.
They say that the expenses every year is too much. The diapers, milk powder, all the prices shoot up.

The other 2 have only 1 child. Its is just nice, not too many or too little. The grandparents also
Can help their daughters or sons to take care of the child. They also added that one child's every month
Expenses is already a lot. They cannot afford anymore babies at the moment.

Singapore need people to give birth as Singapore need to have Economic growth. They also feel that if Singapore have very low birth rate, there will be lack of manpower in case of defense.

The 5 people also included giving fathers paternity leave so that fathers can be more involved in taking care of the child. Only 3 of them would also want the government to subsidize childcare centres more since it is very costly.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, we found that actually most people have children, but only some do not want to have children at the moment. But they do not want to have more than 1 children due to the high cost of living in Singapore. The government can help by giving fathers more leave and lower the price of childcare centres.

This survey helps us to learn more about Singapore and its low birthrate. We had a fun experience as we learnt how to craft a survey. It was not easy, as some people do not want to be interviewed, and it was tiring to go around to find people that is willing to be interviewed. Here are the individual reflections and contributions of our group members:

YENLING
I enjoyed interviewing people. Some people told me that they do not want to have a child.
It is because the expenses is high and do not have the time to take care of the child.
They also cannot afford to buy diapers and milk powder. Their salaries is too low.
And some people want to have children is because they love children and their parents also want to have more Grandchildren. My contributions to the group is asking people to interview, and also typing.

LINGNAR
I enjoyed going around with my group mates to interview people.
My contributions are typing and thinking about the questions. Its was really a great experience.
And fun to know about what the people in Singapore are thinking about.

SARAH
I enjoyed giving moral support to my group.
We interviewed people as a group. But it was a really good experience.
